Unison Launches A Serious Challenge
(08/11/11) At the first consultative meeting with the company held on 2nd November 2011 UNISON have made a number of challenges to the proposed changes to the CPP. We have stressed the importance of our members' pension schemes and made it clear that the company's proposals require more discussion and debate over the coming months if they are to gain UNISON's support.

(14/09/11) We'd like to advise members that the Business has made an offer of a 4.5% pay increase from 1st July. Making a comparison with other energy sectors and the current economic climate, this does seem like a very attractive proposal.

Employee Policies and Procedures
(06/04/11) Both the NJCs for Energy and Services have been working together in a joint sub group to review and revise a range of existing policies and procedures. Sometimes this becomes necessary to comply with new legislation but often revisions need to be made arising from experience in operating them. UNISON will always want to ensure that these policies and procedures are written clearly and simply so that members can easily find out what their employment rights are working for BG. Particular attention has been paid to a range of equalities and family friendly provisions. We want to make sure these are grouped together so that members can see more easily what they are entitled to.

British Gas Pay Award (Level 7 staff) & Pay Review Formula
(06/04/11) A 2.2% pay settlement has been concluded for Level 7 members to be effective from 1st April 2011 for 12 months up to 31st March 2012. This has been agreed with the Trade Unions - UNISON and GMB and is the product of the long standing pay formula agreed by the NJCs.

Business Gas Pay Award
(05/04/11) Further to the discussions held nationally, we'd like to advise members that the company has confirmed a 2.2% pay increase for BGB Level 8 staff. This pay offer is equal to the one given to BGT staff earlier in the year and by no means came as a surprise. Both BGT and BGB have both applied the same awards over the last few years.
