CONSULTATIVE BALLOT - British Gas pension schemes proposed changes

I know that your branch and your members employed by British Gas and /or Centrica are aware of the proposals by management to make some significant changes to the company’s existing pension provisions. Updated: Many thanks to all members who took part. The results of the consultative ballot is:

Question 1:

YES votes: 0% - NO votes: 100%

Question 2:

YES votes: 87.5% - NO votes: 8.75%

Other: 0.625% - YES to industrial action but not strike action

Invalid/Not Accepted: 3.125% - either because the forms were not correctly completed or are not members.

(01/05/08) Over the last week or so management have been briefing staff on the proposals to introduce a new pay and grading system for CSA employees. Alongside that UNISON representatives have been talking to members to get their responses. The new scheme has been the subject of discussion with UNISON and GMB nationally for nearly 12 months and the time had come when members needed to be consulted on their views. More...
