Trustees and Company Agree Changes to the Centrica Pension Plan (CPP) (19/01/12) Over the last few months UNISON has been engaged with British Gas as part of the consultation process on the company's proposals to alter the CPP. Members will be aware that staff on Level 8 contracts are due a cost of living pay increase on their basic contractual salary from 1st January 2012. Pay 2012 – Difficult Negotiations Commence (15/12/11) Members may know that the annual cost of living increase for Level 8 and Level 7 employees throughout British Gas is normally based on an agreed formula that tracks the pay movements across certain parts of the external economy. This has ensured that over the years that the pay levels of BG employees have kept pace with the market. However the agreement also features a get out clause for the company to withhold the whole or part of the award if it is considered to be unaffordable. More...
