Approved: New Discount Card for ALL Members
It is with great pleasure to announce that the members at the AGM
unanimously approved the recommendation by the Committee to provide
each member with a discount card in conjunction with LEALTA.

Lealta are focussed on providing discounts and exclusive benefits
not available to the general public.
In the next couple of months we'll be contacting members to
provide each with their own branded UNISON Benefits Card, which is the key to a wide
range of offers, both locally and across the UK & Southern Ireland.
The benefits are focused primarily on offers and discounts on retail
products and services, for example restaurants, clothing, leisure
activities, beauty salons, gyms and much, much more. There's a wide
range of offers with major retailers and providers, but there's also
a rapidly growing network of thousands of independent retailers
offering deals, usually a minimum of 10% and all those local
companies will give you the discount just for showing your Benefits
Card.
Discounts are available with instantly recognisable high street names and local retailers: Boots, M&S, Thorntons, Halfords, Comet... But perhaps you'd like to enjoy discounts at that nice new restaurant round the corner but they are not listed on the scheme? Simply call the helpline and they'll do their best to bring them on board - what ever it may be, the discount card will save you money.
National Executive Committee (NEC) Elections - Simon Woods
(British Gas Cardiff) Nominated
We'd like to advise members that your Branch Committee has
nominated Simon Woods from British Gas Cardiff for the Energy Seat
to the National Executive Committee.

Ballot papers are being dispatched to each members home address
from this week and the ballot will end on 15th May - Your Union,
Your Vote!
The National Executive Committee (NEC) decides on issues and
campaigns between conferences and works with UNISON staff to support
members. NEC members also represent UNISON and its membership to the
wider world. You want and deserve the best possible representation.
The more members that vote in the National Executive Committee (NEC)
elections the more representative our union is.
