UNISON is aware the of the recent business proposal to reduce staff numbers in Staines by 187. We are also aware that the impact of this will be felt in all offices not just Staines. With the creation of One British Gas and the emphasis being placed on efficiencies we are not surprised that job cuts have been proposed and it is reasonable to believe that there may be more to come.

UNISON has already written to Managing Director Phil Bentley to request a meeting to outline his vision for the company in the foreseeable future.

In the meantime UNISON will continue to support all of our members through this difficult time. We will embark on the official consultations with One British Gas and strongly defend our member's jobs and legal rights. We will also keep you updated with the progress of this consultation period.

There is no better time to be a member of a recognised Trade Union, only a recognised Trade Union can negotiate on your behalf. By being a member of UNISON you have the full support of your local Workplace Representatives, your National Representatives and the Full Time Officer in your area offices.

Our strength is in our numbers... the more members we have, the stronger we are and the greater our voices can be heard.
