Dear Member,

In this update you will find information regarding the following:-

  • How has the office move affected you?

How has the office move affected you?

We hope that the office move from Helmont House to Callaghan Square has been received positively by members. However, it has been highlighted that some members may have real difficulty in attending work due to the access needs as a result of their disability.

Some of these members previously had access to the Company's onsite car park and/or gave them up or opted to use one of the 'Pay & Display' bays in the surrounding area (by taking part in the Disabled Blue Badge Scheme which allows free parking in certain public areas). Most frequently used were the bays at the doorstep of the building. As you may know, the new location no longer offers that luxury.

In comparison with Helmont House, the new building has 31 onsite parking bays and there are 4 other 'Pay & Display' bays adjacent to it. Due to other businesses in the area using the same public parking, these spaces have often become unavailable well before the first shift is due to start at 8am. Members who have not been able to gain one of these spaces and have access requirements have found the situation very upsetting and distressing. Similar difficulty also exists for the closest bays further away.

We have been in discussions with Management to address the issue and the time has come to establish the full extent of the situation. This is where we come to you.

We would like to hear from members who are in this situation. Have you been affected by the move? Are you a member who has access needs to the building and are unable to find a suitable alternative solution? How has this impacted you and what attempts have you made to resolve it?

Please contact us by either speaking with a representative or by replying to this email. We would like to hear from you!

If you haven't already done so, please also ensure you speak with your line manager to make them aware of any difficulty or concerns you may be experiencing.

Thank you!
